1942 World War II: When German U-Boats Prowled near Cape Cod
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Olde Colonial Courthouse, 3046 Route 6A, Barnstable Village
Bill Flynn, historian and author of “A Drumbeat Too Near,” will take the audience back to 1942 Cape Cod. Discussion includes beach patrols, blackouts, rationing, victory gardens and women off to shipbuilding. U-Boats - their design, crews and route across the Atlantic from France to Cape Cod – will be described.

Kayak the Waterways of the Lower Cape
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Location: Nauset Marsh, Cape Cod National Seashore
Explore the maritime past by paddling Cape Cod’s storied coastal waterways with local science teacher and longtime kayak guide, Dick Hilmer. Kayak instruction is included during these natural history tours. Paddle through sheltered creeks, into bays and marshes, and towards islands rich in cultural history. No experience is necessary. Perfect for novice or experienced paddlers. All equipment is provided including kayak, paddle, lifejacket and instruction – just bring a smile and a bottle of water, and $30 per person.

Three-Hour Maritime Bike Rental Package
Time: Open 9 am to 5 pm daily
Location: The Little Capistrano Bike Shop, Salt Pond Road, EasthamBike the Nauset Marsh bike trail to the Coast Guard Station and then along Ocean View to Nauset Lighthouse! Also, enjoy biking on The Cape Cod Rail Trail. Bike and helmet included, along with a souvenir water bottle. On Sundays, Nauset Lighthouse is open from 1 to 4 p.m.
