Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center Tour
Time: 2 p.m.
Location: Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center, Ed Moffitt Drive in Sandwich
The Corps works to ensure safe movement of vessels through the Canal. Join a Park Ranger to discover how the waterway is made safe for navigation. View real-time radar, camera and computer images of the Canal that are transmitted live from the Central Marine Traffic Control System. ½ hour.

Cape Cod Maritime Museum presents "Waters of Cape Cod" exhibition

Local artists explore the nature of water in various media, presenting a unique and compelling exhibit of fine art, curated by Terry Gips, and featuring an essay by Sandy Mcfarlane.

Historic Sarah sails and charters

Go back in time and book a sail on our museum built 1886 Crosby catboat replica Sarah!
Cost: Charters are 1 ½ hour $150; 3 hours $250 (6-person maximum) Scheduled Sails are $25 per adult 18 and over; $10 per child

Kayak the Waterways of the Lower Cape
Time: 1 to 4 p.m.
Location: Strong Island, Chatham
Explore the maritime past by paddling Cape Cod’s storied coastal waterways with local science teacher and longtime kayak guide, Dick Hilmer. Kayak instruction is included during these natural history tours. Paddle through sheltered creeks, into bays and marshes, and towards islands rich in cultural history. No experience is necessary. Perfect for novice or experienced paddlers. All equipment is provided including kayak, paddle, lifejacket and instruction – just bring a smile and a bottle of water, and $30 per person.

Onboard Weather Forecasting
Time: 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Location: Barnstable Intermediate School Cafeteria, 895 Falmouth Road (Route 28), Hyannis
Gain a better sense of developing weather on the water! Learn what weather systems are, how clouds help predict the weather, why wind characteristics indicate stormy weather, the basics of weather forecasts and how to add more accuracy to weather forecasts. Presented by Cape Cod Sail and Power Squadron.

Open house at Nobska Lighthouse
Time: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Location: Nobska Light, Nobska and Church Road in Woods Hole
Tours of the lighthouse. Children must be 45” tall and over age 6. Only six people can go up at a time on tour.

Ship in a Bottle Classes
Time: 10 a.m. to noon
Location: Cape Cod Maritime Museum,135 South St, Hyannis
Spend time together. Students 14 and up accompanied by one adult will learn the artistry of building a ship in a bottle. No experience necessary. You will build a model of American Corvette, specifically created for this course. A “corvette” was a small maneuverable three masted ship, smaller than a frigate. 2-day course.
