Fifth Annual Cape Cod Canal Boating & Water Safety Day
Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center, US Coast Guard Station and
Sandwich Marina, Ed Moffitt Drive in Sandwich
Get ready for a fun and safe summer by joining the US Army Corps of Engineers, US Coast Guard, the Massachusetts State and Environmental Police, and others for a full day of water and boating safety activities for all ages. The event will include games for kids, prizes, dock-side tours of agency boats, rescue demonstrations and more! Bring your boat – the US Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering free vessel safety checks.

Historic Sarah sails and charters
Location: Cape Cod Maritime Museum,135 South St, Hyannis
Go back in time and book a sail on our museum built 1886 Crosby catboat replica Sarah!
Cost: Charters are 1 ½ hour $150; 3 hours $250 (6-person maximum) Scheduled Sails are $25 per adult 18 and over; $10 per child

Annual Highland Light Ocean to the Bay Road Race
Time: 9 a.m.
Location: Highland Light Road, North Truro
Five-mile run/walk from Highland Lighthouse to the bay and back, to benefit the lighthouse preservation. Awards, raffles and refreshments.

Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center Tour
Time: 2 p.m.
Location: Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center, Ed Moffitt Drive in Sandwich
The Corps works to ensure safe movement of vessels through the Canal. Join a Park Ranger to discover how the waterway is made safe for navigation. View real-time radar, camera and computer images of the Canal that are transmitted live from the Central Marine Traffic Control System. ½ hour.

Harbor Your Arts Artist Shanties
Location: Pearl Street, Hyannis and Bismore Park, Ocean Street, Hyannis
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Unique harborfront location for artists to create and sell their work. Visit individual artists whose work is as unique as the artists themselves. Painting, photography, ceramics, jewelry and so much more!

Kayak the Waterways of the Lower Cape
Time: 1 to 4 p.m.
Location: Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod National Seashore
Explore the maritime past by paddling Cape Cod’s storied coastal waterways with local science teacher and longtime kayak guide, Dick Hilmer. Kayak instruction is included during these natural history tours. Paddle through sheltered creeks, into bays and marshes, and towards islands rich in cultural history. No experience is necessary. Perfect for novice or experienced paddlers. All equipment is provided including kayak, paddle, lifejacket and instruction – just bring a smile and a bottle of water, and $30 per person.
