Chairman of the Board Updates
From the Chairman of the Board - December 30, 2010:
As we usher in a new year, I wanted to share with you some activity of your board of directors of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce.
In December we enlisted the services of the Institute for Business Excellence and launched a 6-month strategic planning process. A committee of directors has been formed to give the Chamber a top to bottom review of our role in a changing economic landscape. We have a tremendous depth of talent on our board of directors and within our membership and we seek to tap that talent to advance the well-being of Cape Cod and our business community. We have also been actively pursuing relationships with our newly elected officials to Beacon Hill and Capital Hill.
Pre-inauguration meetings are on-going and we will continue to advocate on our key issues of:
• Regionalized services to keep tax rates manageable
• Transportation and adequate canal bridge access
• Water quality and resources for waste water infrastructure
• Promotion of the Cape Cod brand
• Containing the rising cost of healthcare benefits to employees
This board of directors represents YOU, and we always welcome your thoughts and ideas to address the compelling issues facing Cape Cod and our economy.
We will be reporting out more to you in the coming weeks as we advance this dialogue.
Happy New Year!
William Zammer, Jr
