Organizations for Charity, Medical Research and Education
There are many non-profit organizations on Cape Cod which focus on the welfare of its residents.
The Cape Cod Foundation is one such organization. The Foundation operates to improve the quality of life of residents with identifiable needs, large or small. It accepts donations, establishes and administers funds, and then awards grants and scholarships by matching donors’ interests with community needs. Income earned from investments of the Foundation’s endowment, as well as unrestricted gifts, are disbursed to such organizations as the Fund for Cape Elderly, Samaritans on Cape Cod, Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod and the Boys & Girls Club.
Also, many familiar national organizations with diverse purposes in the areas of philanthropy, medical research and education have active representation on the Cape. Among them are the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, United Way and Habitat for Humanity.
