Transportation
Cape Cod is accessible from virtually anywhere in the world, whether you’re traveling by air, bus or car. A guide to all forms of Cape & Islands transit modes can be found in our annual Smart Guide, Car Free Ways to and around Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket.
The Cape is just 75 miles from LoganAirport in Boston, Massachusetts and T.F.GreenAirport in Providence, Rhode Island. BarnstableMunicipalAirport on Cape Cod readily accommodates corporate aircraft and offers scheduled service between New York, Providence, Boston and the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Car rentals and bus service are available at either airport, and ferry service from Boston to Provincetown is also a popular option for getting here.
Once you cross one of the two bridges spanning the Cape Cod Canal, a range of transportation options are available. Ferries to the islands run daily. In-town bus and shuttle services are a great way to travel around Cape Cod, and scenic bike trails are in abundance, and bike rentals are available at many locations.
