Route 6 Info Center ready to roll
On May 22 members of the Board of Directors and committee chairs joined staff and the construction crew from Davenport Building Company for a celebration of the reopening of the Chamber's building at Route 6 & 132. A cookout was hosted to thank the crew and to allow directors to view the new site before operations began on Memorial Day weekend. The Chamber is planning to move all operations into this building in mid June and a formal announcement will go out to members upon the completion of the new visitors center at that site (slated to be done by July.) The info center will be open 7 days a week beginning May 30th. Please be sure to bring your new brochures or business cards and posters.

Road Show to Feature New Co-Op Look
The Chamber's marketing committee has redesigned the look of our co-operative advertising and will be bringing this look to several meetings around the Cape this summer. Pierce-Cote' advertising has produced a destination sell ad that also features participating member advertisements. New this year will be line listings at reduced prices to encourage smaller member participation. Watch this enewsletter for the dates and locations of these upcoming Road Shows!

Business Excellence Awards to be Featured at Annual Meeting.
The invitations are out and the award results are in. Be there on June 18 to celebrate five outstanding business representatives at the Chamber's annual dinner at the Cape Codder Resort. We thank all those who took the time and caring to nominate a candidate (we had over 26 nominees!) and we look forward to confering the winners with their beautiful plaques.

    Route 25 Open Extended Hours
To best serve the traveling public our visitors center on Route 25 (3 miles before the Bourne Bridge) is now open extended hours on Thursday and Fridays. Be sure your brochure is in the racks -- it's free to all members of the Chamber in good standing!

    J-1 Student Employment & Housing
Once again we anticipate the arrival of students traveling on J-1 Visas. With increased security restrictions on these visa permits, we expect the numbers to be slightly down this year. However, we have coordinated with the Career Center in Hyannis to be a clearing house for guiding these potential workers to jobs on the Cape. If you would like to offer to these student workers or if you have jobs, please contact the One-Stop career center at 77 High School Road Extension, Hyannis at 508-862-6600 or the newly opened Career Center at 77 Finlay Road, Orleans at 508-240-1900. If you have housing that you can offer these students - you may contact the Orleans Chamber of Commerce in the lower Cape area or notify the Cape Cod Chamber by email to [email protected].
