March Breakfast Forum on Second Home Boom
Peter Francese, a widely recognized demographics and marketing expert, will discuss his research on the second home boom phenomenon on March 12 at Cape Cod Community College at the final event in the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce's series of marketing workshops. The public is invited to attend. His appearance was arranged by Cape Cod 2nd Home Journal, in cooperation with the Home Builders Association of Cape Cod.

He will speak at 8 a.m., preceded by coffee and pastries at 7:30 and followed by a question and answer period.

Following the Chamber event and a coffee break, Cape Cod 2nd Home Journal will present a 10:30 discussion by Francese on marketing to the second home owner, also followed by questions and answers.

Francese, who founded American Demographics magazine, speaks and writes frequently on consumer trends and customer behavior. His most recent book, "Marketing Insights," was published in May of last year. Francese has written two other books on how to more effectively target consumer markets: 'Capturing Customers and Marketing Know-How," and was the co- author of "Health Care Consumers."

Attendees will hear why Cape Cod can expect its second home boom to continue to grow, but at a faster rate than in the past, with an impact that will force businesses and services to adjust radically.

"Every business and every resident will feel the impact" says Francese. The coming of age of the baby boom generation, with their combination of "big money and big numbers" is making the Cape's second home market "white hot," he says.

Cape Cod Chamber Career & Job Center
Are you looking for employees? Or maybe you are looking for a job?

We are happy to announce the Cape Cod Chamber Career & Job Center is up and running. This section of our website is designed to assist both members who are looking for employees and those individuals seeking employment.

All Cape Cod Chamber Members (with an email address on file at the Chamber office) have the capability to post employment listings that will be seen by a variety of people seeking employment. Visitors are encouraged to post resumes online and search job listings thorough this site simply by providing a current e-mail address. (In fact, everyone who sends resumes to our attention for summer jobs are asked to go through this system. That is over 100 people so far this year!)

The first time you log on (by clicking employer) you will need to register (there is a link below the password box). Even if you don't have any current job availabilities you can post an "Employer Profile" about your company for potential future job seekers to see.
